Feral
Artist: Behzad Mardali
" feral" is a name for the other.
Yet Derrida asks: is the "wild" truly outside of us?
Or is it our language that has cast it out?
At this knot of duality,
a trembling border emerges between inside and outside,
between humans and nature—
a border constantly on the verge of collapse.
In these works, the feral is not merely a visual subject,
but a wound upon language itself—
a wound that ruptures the order of meaning
and questions the boundary between human and nature.
Which one, then, is the feral?
The rejected nature,
or the human veiled beneath the mask of civilization and culture?
