*Dihīm (Diadem)*

An adornment, often a cluster of blossoms arranged upon a single plane.

Motifs, colors, and forms draw upon this very name, appearing in carpets and especially in textiles. At times, they face us directly, in sanctuaries, in shrines, and within their enclosures.

These motifs and ornaments, sometimes architectural, become part of our surroundings.

They are woven Into the spaces around us, at times adorning our bodies.

Elsewhere, they can be found offering repose to the physical form.

Themes emerge close to us, embedded in the objects and spaces we inhabit.

There is always space for reverie.

No need to search far: as we draw inward, we move closer to ourselves.

Beliefs manifest through tradition, some passed down from distant generations, others shaped by more recent memory, yet all as enduring as history itself.

From this perspective, form and ornament begin to acquire a sense of place.

The experiencee of selfhood—of becoming "I"—is intimately bound to one’s homeland.

Thus, the question of origin becomes entangled with motif, color, and form.

These elements sometimes hang from the hand, grace the neck, adorn the wall, or become part of one’s garment.

They cling to the body.

Zar-afshān (gold-sprinkled patterns) and adornments, in truth, elevate beauty and art to a higher plane, one of symbolic resonance and aesthetic transformation.
